12 Keys To Conquer

As Christians, leaders and churches we are not hoping to conquer but we are BOUND FOR CONQUEST. This is God’s intention for each one. We are called to be conquerors to triumph over everything thing that stands against us.

In Bogotá there is no doubt that they have learnt to overcome in their nation where they have faced great difficulty and been the means of great transformation.

From the Colombian ‘Bound for Conquest’ Convention we have many lessons on how to conquer.

You Conquer…

1. By Being A Person Of Vision And Dreams

‘God has multitudes for your church.’ Believe for an anointing of 1000.

2. By Faith

‘Goals are a declaration of faith. Faith always has a risk. Don’t limit God with your mind. God wants to lead you to a new level.’

In September 2005 Pastor Castellanos, challenged the men who would be in his Senior 12 to believe, pray and work to get 1000 men on the School of leaders within three months. This was achieved. The faith goal set for 2006 is that they will each have a cell of 12 over the next year = 144,000 men.

Pastor Barrios referred to a strategy based on Number 31:4 where all the tribes recruited 1000 men to overcome the Midianites who had attacked and robbed them.

'It wasn’t one tribe that had 500 and another 800 they all had 1000.’

Everybody should have faith for what God can do through them. Faith is simply believing the word of God.

3. By Faithfulness

According to Pastor Castellanos, ‘The most important thing in a disciple is not fruitfulness but faithfulness. We have had disciples who were fruitful but not faithful and lost their fruit through unfaithfulness.’

4. By Breaking Free From Sin And Negativism

You must get rid of everything that would stop you becoming fruitful as a Christian. ‘Don’t allow resentment in your heart. Fight against fear, rebellion, pride, and sexual uncleanness. God has given you power to overcome all stumbling blocks. Take your ‘vengeance’ against anything that holds you back and takes your fruit.’

Overcome obstacles of envy, fear, discouragement, independence and selfishness and murmuring or critical words and attitudes. ‘Murmuring can be passive; where you say nothing but listen or active when you do both.’

The antidote is to be positive and have a grateful heart.

5. By Love

‘When you are called to win those who are lost there must be compassion. Modern society has fallen into hardness of heart. We must ask God for compassion. This is why Christ left heaven. Why do you want people if you have no compassion for people and can’t help them?’

'When compassion comes to you, you can believe for the redemption of your nation.’
Cesar Castellanos

‘Your disciple is a friend - always treat people with love and respect. Avoid criticism. Be an expert in looking for the good in others and not condemning.’
Joanna Castellanos

6. By Maturity Of Commitment

Three signs of a mature Christian are:

Fasting: where people get serious with God and fast as well as pray.
Tithing: where people have committed their finances to God and to the church.
Serving: where people don’t just think of what’s just best for themselves but where people give themselves to help and serve others.

When someone has a selfish heart they don’t see the whole picture and they become independent. When they are truly a son or daughter they work for the good of the whole family.

7. By Taking Responsibility For Your: Nation, Politically And Spiritually

Three of the church’s leaders are standing in the Colombian national elections, including Pastor Claudia Castellanos who is running for the senate.

Senator German Vargas Lleras, the leader of Radical Change, the third largest political party, and a potential future candidate for President, spoke at the conference and pledged to ‘accept the challenge of facing change with the help of the Christian community.’ He pledged to commit to all of the goals of the Christian agenda for family, national security and the eradication of poverty.

‘G12 has anointing not just for making disciples but for government.’
Claudia Castellanos

8. By Taking Hold Of God’s Word And Applying It To Our Lives

Reading the Bible and writing down what God says to you each day is of great importance.

‘I am living on my own and to prepare yourself, you have to pay a price. You have to move to move to a new level. This is a year of challenges and a year to conquer. Take hold of the Word and head out to conquer.’
Manuela Castellanos

9. By Knowing God As Our Father

‘G12 is a powerful vision because it deals with the issue of fatherhood.’
Claudia Castellanos

Abraham is our father in the faith and we are to know God as a loving heavenly father.

‘G12 is a vision of being fathers to the nations in a fatherless generation. Many have been hurt by father figures. God is restoring the spirit of fatherhood. We should learn to love our spiritual fathers.’
Lawrence Khong

10. By The Anointing Of The Holy Spirit

God gives an anointing to rebuke demons and bring healing. There is power in having an encounter with God.

11. By Going Taking The Gospel To People Wherever They Are

Pastor Estaban Chavez gave a Biblical overview of the importance of visiting people in their homes called ‘The Power Of A Visit.’ ‘If you have love, go beyond the door posts of people’s homes and be with people. The apostle Paul loved visiting because he loved the people he was visiting. Just as Jesus did we must sacrifice our comfort out of love.’ Visitation is one of the keys of consolidating people in their faith.

12. By Having A Changed Heart

Pastor Juan Carlos Rojas, head of the School of Leaders, told how he had changed his group of three times in five years and never grew beyond 20 cells. Then the Lord said, ‘I have to form your heart before you can form others.’ He spoke of how the Lord dealt with his own heart about being faithful, more loving and having more faith. In one year he went from 20 to 200 cells.

‘God had to get through to my own hard heart. Because of things I had experienced as a policeman I had hardened myself just to get through. Like many men I had to learn how to cry.’ Ken Gott

Conquer Today

No matter what is happening in the world, no matter what circumstances you face with Christ in your life, you can Conquer. The biggest battles always precede the biggest victories. Now is the time for breakthrough. It is important to believe and call on the Lord for a new level of faith, confidence, provision, freedom and security. According to Romans 8:31 ‘If God is for us who can be against us?’

‘Now in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels no demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither heights no depth nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.’
Romans 8:37-39
